Cyrus heaped praises on the organizing committee of the lecture series, which in his opinion was a historical feat.

“I want to thank all of you for arranging these educating lectures.

I am a much less ignorant man now… they’ve provided fun and laughter… so tonight I am delighted to say to your organizing committee that they have created history by the excellence in which they have organized these celebrations.”

“I fear no controversy or no contradiction when I say that in my view this has been the best organized undertaking in the history of St. Vincent.”

Cyrus, who gave the unofficial vote of thanks on behalf of the audience that had been following the lectures since they began a year ago, read a prepared speech in which he looked back at his relationship with the sister school of his Alma Mater, the St. Vincent Boys’ Grammar School, to the cheers of the majority of the audience.

Cyrus said that the series was a magnificent occasion which brought joy to his heart.
