Elton Paynter, better known as “Uptown” or “Chris”, the owner and manager of Uptown International Designs Inc, pitched his company’s support behind Next Level Country Music Club, a local group whose aim is to promote and develop a Caribbean genre of country music, one which will include the steel pan.

Arden C. Tannis, President of the Caribbean Country Music Association, says he sees his company’s support of the Club’s programs as a means of his company giving back to the community. He pointed out that the activities of the club help to contribute to the development of the nation’s youths and their talents while providing them with alternative genre of music that does not incite violence and lurid behaviour. The Next level Country Music Club will host the first Uptown International Inaugural Country Karaoke Music Awards on Saturday, 2nd April, 2011, at the Club Calabash.
