The students from Grades 3 ad 4, under the leadership of teachers Sheneika Laidlow and Shenel Allen, organised a programme of reading, songs, prayers, and social interaction with several homes in the area, to demonstrate that the Reading for Life programme is bearing fruit.
Two homes visited by the students were those of Mr Roberts, better known as âPinch-umâ and his neigbour, Conley âChivamboâ Rose.
The KGS students displayed a variety of reading skills, biblical readings, folk songs and poetry, much to the delight of the neigbours present. Short speeches and tips for learning in school were delivered by Mr. Roberts, Mr. Rose and photographer Robert Clouden, who all encouraged the students to aim for success in their studies. Light refreshments, gifts and copies of the newspaper FLAIR were distributed to the students present.
