The group’s programme was officially launched on Sunday, November 28, at the Chebar Evangelical Assembly Inc. Church, at Rose Place.

Under the theme ‘To Liberate The Captives’, the organization was formed in an effort to evangelize to inmates at the correctional facilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as to provide assistance to ex-convicts and victims of crimes.

Sunday’s launch started at 3:30p.m, when testimonies were heard from former inmates of Her Majesty’s Prison. The afternoon’s programme included perfomances by local artistes, including the Fidel Taylor-led New Generation Gospel Band.

Pastor Chiefton Charles of the Nazarene Church of Enhams delivered a sermonette, before a prayer of intercession on behalf of the group’s target audience.

The steering committee is headed by Executive Director Costian Cupid, with Charles as Chairman, Deputy Chairman Carldon Charles, Public Relations Officer Lemmew Samuel, Secretary/ Treasurer Ashakie Cupid and Men-At- Large Terron James and Jonathan Abraham.

A contingent from the Antigua Prison Fellowship Ministry also attended the launch. (JJ)
