Funded by the UPU’s Quality of Service Fund, the project (‘Improving mail collection and delivery’) focused on the rapid transfer of mail from the head office to the various rural post offices on a daily basis.

This efficient daily service is one of the major areas in which the Postal Corporation seeks to comply with it UN mandate of “providing affordable postal services to all persons island-wide”.

St Vincent and the Grenadines joined the UPU, which was established in 1874, in February 1981.
