St Vincent and the Grenadines was represented at the Caribbean Postal Unionâs 13th Annual Postmaster General Conference, held in Le Ressouvenir, Guyana, by the Director of Postal Services Celene Jack.{{more}}
Jack attended the conference – which ran from Monday, September 6, to Thursday, September 9 – with 22 other delegates from around the region, North America and Europe.
The conference, which was hosted by the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC), addressed challenges that the Caribbean postal service faces, and the way forward for the industry.
Topics covered included âGlobal trends in postal marketsâ, âOpportunities and challenges in small economiesâ, âRegional positioning of postâ, and âInstitutionalizing the postâ.
During the conference, the CARICOM Secretariat hosted a workshop, âLinking postal and courier services in the CSMEâ, that was described by GPOC Public Relations Officer Yolaskee Jervis as the âbenchmark of this yearâs conferenceâ.
Jervis added that the Caribbean Postal Union provides regional postal administrations with a âplatform to address collective issuesâ and âtechnical supportâ.
