No rift between police, say CID, SSU heads

Head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Willisford Caesar and Special Services Unit (SSU) head ASP Renold Hadaway are dispelling rumors that a rift exists between the two police departments of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.{{more}}

At a media briefing on Tuesday, August 24, Caesar said an allegation was made on Nice Radio that murder accused Special Services Police Constable Rohan McDowall had been removed from the CID by SSU officers and that they (SSU) said: “Let them (CID) come for him”.

“The allegation is irresponsible, unfounded and malicious… As head of SSU, myself and others never removed Constable McDowall,” Hadaway stated.

In his response to the allegations made, Caesar declared that there is no rift between the departments. “I want the State to know emphatically that there is no conflict, confusion between CID and SSU,” he asserted. (KW)
