Ruth Durham ordained as an Evangelist

Ruth N. Durham was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel with the gift as an Evangelist on August 1, 2010 at the Miracle Tabernacle Church, Carapan under the Leadership of Rev. Pastor Olga DeFreitas and conducted by the Rt. Rev. Bishop C.L Green (Dip. Th London). She shared the occasion with four other members who were ordained as Ministers of the Gospel.{{more}}

Durham, a nurse at the Kingstown District Clinic, is no stranger to excelling for the Lord as on May 31, 2007 she graduated with Honours as the Best all-round student from the West Indies School of Theology – St. Vincent District (W.I.S.T Extension Bible School). Even then she expressed her desire to become a Pastor, and now three years later, she is ordained as a Minister of the Gospel.

Ruth testifies that “my heart’s desire is to once again see the church in its glory and splendor, seeking after the things that not only satisfies, but have eternal significance. I envision a glorious church pursuing His presence, desperate to hear His voice and needy for His supply. This church will be one that will not allow false imitations to become a substitute for what is real. As we continue to work for God, I pray that we will become thirsty, desperately thirsty, not for anything that this world can supply but only for the water of life, an exclusive product of God. I sincerely believe that when the Body of Christ becomes full of Him and His word, we will experience great revival and salvation occurring in His name. I surrender all to Jesus who is the source of my help and success”. Her favourite scripture verse is Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich and He addeth no sorrows with it”.

The service was memorable, especially the message delivered by the Rev. Pastor Bess on the beauty and beasts of being Ministers of the Gospel. It was indeed a day to rejoice, and the family and friends of Mrs. Durham extend congratulations to her on her achievement and may God continue to guide and direct her in His awesome will. We should all remember that “In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Thanks be to God.
