Automobile Association holds fun day
St. Vincent and the Grenadines Automobile Association held its Fun Day on Sunday, August 1, 2010. The dayâs activities were hosted in very wet conditions, but what a fun day it was!{{more}}
The day began with an hour of head to head racing, both in the handicapped style and grouped racing. The heavy rains then came, offering a brief intermission. Shortly thereafter the fun activities began with a triathlon, which saw the youths of Diamond run a leg on the track in which they passed their baton onto a go-kart driver, who then drove his leg of the race, and passed their baton onto the race car drivers, who completed a full lap of head to head relay action.
Next on the line-up were exhibition runs around the wet and soggy track. Spectators were able to pay for a lap around the track with their favored sportsperson in their car. The kids had major fun as they had the entire day of bouncing on the jumping castle, which was on site for their amusement.
After the exhibition runs, a tug-of-war between the youngsters at this event and a few of the Automobile Associationâs members took place, and saw the youths actually winning over the adults in this event.
The kids and spectators were then loaded with water-bomb balloons with which they splashed spectators, drivers and marshals, despite the weather which had subsided by the afternoon. Along with these activities were a barbeque, other foods and a well stocked bar, which was widely supported by patrons.
SVGAAâs Fun Day was a success despite the gloomy weather. The next event is scheduled for August 15th, which will see an intense day of racing between both 2wd & 4wd cars and drivers of the SVGAA.
âAs usual, we invite all to this event, where the action from now onwards, will only be âcharged upâ.â
