In a Passing out Parade and Investiture Ceremony witnessed by parents, family, friends and well-wishers, the recruits took their ‘Promise of Enrolment’ before the Cadet Force Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Dwight.

The passing out parade represented the culmination of a two-week basic training programme which consisted of drill, military knowledge, civics, history of the Cadet Force, physical training and sensible living.

The recruitment programme in Bequia is part of the expansion initiative of the Cadet Force which now has full-fledged units in Georgetown, Barrouallie, and two in Kingstown. Because of the association of the Bequia community with the marine environment it is proposed that the Unit be a Marine Unit attached to Service and Support Company of the Cadet Force.
