Regis “Splectron” Williams, organizer of the event, said the event is a belated carnival cooldown boat ride and will give persons the chance to experience Canouan’s carnival. The boat ride will take place on Sunday, August 1, aboard the MV Jayden T.

Splectron told SEARCHLIGHT there will be a wet fete on the trip down to Canouan. When the vessel arrives in Canouan, persons will get a chance to take part in the carnival activities. On the trip back to mainland, there will be a back in time style party, he said.

He encouraged the women attending the boatride to dress as they would for J’Ouvert, adding that the best dressed female will be awarded $200. There will also be a wet T-shirt competition.

Splectron advised persons to get their tickets for the event early as only 500 persons will be allowed on board the vessel by the authorities, instead of the regular 1,000 persons. He added that there will be added security on the vessel to make sure that no one is shoved or pushed when getting on, as has occurred in the past.

He further asked persons without tickets not to show up at the wharf on Sunday. The vessel will leave the wharf at 7:30 am. The tickets cost $40 and $45 after Friday.
