SVGIF embarks on programme for community leaders

The SVG Social Investment Fund will be embarking upon a National Capacity Building Programme for community leaders.{{more}}

This programme will be geared towards enhancing the capacity of civil society organizations, especially in the areas of organizational management, leadership and sustainability. To this end, a series of workshops will be held at various venues on the topics: Leadership, Finance Management, Communication, Role of executive, Project writing, Project Management.

The first phase of the programme will target rural community groups on the Windward and Leeward sides of St.Vincent as well as groups in Kingstown. The Grenadines will be the focus of phase 2 of the programme.

The phase one workshops will be held several centres around the country. The workshop at the North Union Resource Centre starts on Tuesday, July 13, at 4:00pm, and will continue for six consecutive Tuesdays.

The Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation will host a workshop from Wednesday, July 14, at 4:00pm. This workshop will continue for six consecutive Wednesdays.

The Barrouallie Community Centre will be the venue of workshops from Thursday, July 15, at 4:00pm. These will continue for six consecutive Thursdays.

A special invitation is extended to all Community Based Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, Sporting and Cultural Organizations to attend these workshops.
