Culture Minister at ABLA meet in Dominica

Building closer links between the Anglophone nations of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) was one of the main issues discussed at the Third Summit of the Ministers of Culture of ALBA.{{more}}

René Baptiste, Minister of Culture, represented St.Vincent and the Grenadines at the meeting that took place in Roseau, Dominica, from Tuesday, June 15, until Thursday, June 17, 2010.

At the session the ministers representing the English speaking countries also discussed bringing their cultural diversity to their Latin-American counterparts.

They used the session to make recommendations on the ALBA Strategic Cultural Project; ALBA’s Cultural Grand National Project and ALBA’s Grand National Cultural Fund.

The ministers expanded their discussions to share their views on a document called Culture with ALBA; the ALBA Cultural Fund and the progress made with the special actions delegated to Cuba and Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador.

The Culture Ministers of Cuba, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua also joined Baptiste at the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau.

The First Summit was held in Venezuela and the Second in Cuba.
