Miss Rock is 100
On Sunday, April 11, 2010, Lurencita âMaMaâ Rock of Chili Village, Georgetown reached the age of 100 years.{{more}}
Rock celebrated her birthday with relatives and members of her church, Holy Trinity Anglican Church of Georgetown. Her birthday celebration was in the form of a service where members sang and prayed with her.
Rock a former member of the Holy Trinity choir sang along with everyone. Lurencita is not in the best of health now due to an accident at her home in February 2004 where she broke her hip and has been confined to her bed ever since.
Though she never had any biological children, Lurencita was a mother to many and anyone who came into contact with her loved her.
There are times when she does not recognize anyone but there are also other times when she is very alert and remembers when she worked with several Anglican priests and when she sang with the church choir. Lurencita received several presents from the Anglican Church family at Georgetown. Let us wish Miss Rock all the best for 2010.
