Girls Guides celebrate centenary with parade of floats

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Saturday, April 10, 2010.

Here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the celebration will include a parade of floats and a rally which will be held at Victoria Park.{{more}}

The procession of the floats will leave the Geest Shed at 1:30 pm on Saturday and parade through the streets of Kingstown ending at Victoria Park. The floats will portray projects on the Global Action theme.

The themes include “Together we can end extreme poverty and hunger”, “Education opens doors for all girls and boys”, “Empowering girls will change our world”, “Together we can save children’s lives”, “Every mother’s life and health is precious” and “We can save our planet”.

There will also be a Brownie float with the theme “Magic Garden.”
