New Executive elected for VINSA in Jamaica

The newly elected executive of the Vincentian Students Association (VINSA) in Jamaica will take up their posts come April 1, 2010.{{more}}

The seven-member executive is being led by President Sean Rose; Vice President-Jacintha Payne; Treasurer-Jeon Adams; Public Relations Officer-Rochelle Baptiste; Cultural Entertainment Affairs Chairperson- Akisha Henry; Secretary- Shiaka Cato and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer-Cordel Matthews.

The executive was elected at VINSA’s final general meeting for the academic year held at the AZ Preston Hall on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

The in-coming executive pledged to maintain the high standard set by their predecessors so that VINSA can remain the number one Island Association on the University of the West Indies Mona Campus.

President Sean Rose said he hopes to strengthen the bond with other Island Associations and to get more Vincentian students studying in Jamaica involved in the affairs of VINSA. He noted that it is a “new footprint in a new era” for the Vincentian Students Association in Jamaica.

At the meeting, recognition was given to the out-going executive for their outstanding work and VINSA members for their continuing support in the building of the Association.
