CED to host record keeping seminar

PERSONS in the business sector have just a few more days to get into the Financial Management seminar on basic record keeping organized by the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) Business Gateway Project.{{more}}

The Financial Management seminar, entitled Introduction to Record Keeping, is scheduled to take place March 8 -12, from 6:00-9:00 p.m, at CED’s Conference Room. It will be held under the theme: “Taking Charge of Your Business’ Money: Keeping the Books”.

This seminar is intended for Business Owners, Managers, Accounts Clerks, and other interested individuals responsible for financial management in their organization or those just wishing to understand the fundamentals of Financial Management.

As the first Module in CED’s Financial Management training, the recordkeeping seminar has become very popular among small business operators and the wider business sector over the past 9 years, as more entrepreneurs are recognizing the need for proper record keeping in business operations.

Participants will get an understanding of the basics of book keeping and learn how to record and depreciate fixed assets, record credit sales and payments, reconcile bank statements, and prepare petty cash books. They will also learn how to record cash sales and payments, prepare, analyze and interpret financial statements, as well as record keeping for Value Added Tax (VAT) purposes.
