The supplies, worth over $3,000, consist of Medical Supplies, Clothing and Food Stuff. They were handed over to Salvation Army on Friday, February 5, 2010.

Chairman of the URA Kenneth Abraham said the group, on seeing the damage in Haiti, felt that it should be of help to its brothers and sisters in Haiti. Abraham said that the enthusiasm of the group was so high that all supplies were brought and gathered within a week.

The group, which is based in the Cane Grove/ Buccament area, is made up of persons who were living abroad and have returned home. Their members now live in communities between Layou and Belair.

A release from the group said: “This is a fitting way for us to celebrate our fifth anniversary, which occurs in February.”

The United Returnees Association is now preparing for its Valentine’s Dance on February 13, 2010, at Cane Grove.

“This is the way we make funds to help those who need it most. We thank all our wellwishers and friends,” the release said.
