Paul wins ‘100 Days of Christmas’ Standard Shippers promotion

Lenmore Paul, a resident of Richland Park, has been diagnosed and has been living with Congestive Cardiac Failure (CCF) for the past 8 years.

As a result, he has had to give up working and life has not been the same since.{{more}}

That is why he was overjoyed to hear that he was the winner of this year’s Standard Shippers Inc sponsored barrel in the ‘100 Days of Christmas’ promotion giveaway put on by Cross Country Radio (CCR).

An avid listener to the station for the past 10 years, Paul said that he could not believe it when he heard that he was the winner.

Paul’s name was chosen when the draw took place on December 1.

“Standard Shippers has allowed me to spend a good Christmas,” Paul told SEARCHLIGHT.

The items include basic household items and the all important Christmas ham, all purchased by Standard Shippers’ head office in New York.

“It’s a lot of items,” Marilyn Shortte, manager of the local branch, said. “There are a lot of items, and I think Mr Paul will make good use of it.”

She noted that her company has been involved in the promotion for some time, but this is by far the biggest year, and on behalf of the corporate bosses, Shortte pledged the company’s continued support of the programme.

And according to Carlos Maloney, owner of CCR, this year was quite successful in terms of participation, with over 500 calls, and these were just those that were taken.

“It’s a good programme and the people love it,” he said. (DD)
