The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc (CED) Business Gateway Project has organised three Seminars in Computerised Accounting: Introduction to QuickBooks as part of its Financial Management training for this year. The seminars will be held under the theme, “Making Financial Management Easier”. The objective is to give participants a good understanding of QuickBooks and how to use the computerized accounting programme to prepare proper financial records for their businesses.

The first seminar is scheduled for October 19-23, 6:00-9:00 p.m., at Joachim & Associates Conference Room. It will be conducted by Yvette Barnwell-Wickham. The second seminar takes place November 9-13, 1:00-4:00 p.m., at CED’s National Contact Centre and will be conducted by Simone Murray, Manager of the Business Gateway Project. The third seminar is slated to take place November 16-20, 6:00-9:00 p.m., also at Joachim & Associates Conference Room. Barnwell-Wickham will again facilitate this training.

Manager of Training and Education, Jacintha James, says the seminars were initially scheduled to take place earlier this year but were postponed as CED Business Gateway had to source the computers needed for the training.

“After the long delay we are pleased to be offering our Computerised Accounting Seminars to the public,” James states. “We had planned to have two seminars but the overwhelming response and requests being made for this type of training have prompted us to organize an additional seminar, and even that may not be enough. There is high interest in this type of training and we want to ensure that all interested individuals have the opportunity.”

James is, however, urging persons who have not yet registered for this seminar to do so as the classes can only accommodate 13 persons at a time.

“We have a deadline for registration, that is October 30th, but already persons are signing up and we operate on a first-come first-serve basis, so contact our office for the registration form and ensure that your place is secured in the November seminars, because the one in October is already full,” she explains.
