The programme, which was held from July 27th to 31st, was held under the theme: “Experience World of Agriculture”.

During the course of the week, the pupils participated in various activities including tie-dying, Origami, playing Japanese card games and pizza making. On Wednesday, the students visited CARDI where they learned about vegetables and fruits from a CARDI representative. A visit was also made to ICDF, where the pupils were given an introduction to food processing and were able to sample banana ice cream.

During the closing ceremony, pupils were given a certificate for participating. According to a release from the organizers, “We wanted to give them opportunity to experience agriculture. On the first day, no one wanted to become a farmer. After they visited CARDI and ICDF, some students were interested in agriculture.”

The organizers hope to run the programme again next year.
