On the evening of July 23, the Enhams Community, JEMS Community Organisation and the Lions Club (South) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Social Investment Fund (SVGSIF) to undertake the “Enhams Community Centre/Emergency Shelter and Pre-School Enhancement project.

SIF will assist with EC$150,000.

The project entails renovating the Community Centre and Pre School, constructing a playground and fencing the community hard court.

Speaking at the launching ceremony Pre-school co-ordinator, Anneta Jackson said she was happy with the assistance given by SIF, as the school in its present state did not meet the minimum safety and hygienic requirements to remain open.

“I want to say a special thank you to SIF for making this enhancement project a step to reality,” she said.

Chief Executive Officer at SIF, Bentley Browne said the project was also a great concern to the members of the Board of Directors and they were anxious to see it off the ground.

He said time was limited and urged all parties involved to work together in the interest of the timely completion of the project.

The Enhams Community Emergency Shelter and Pre school enhancement project is co-sponsored by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
