NCB Social Club donates to hospital
The frowns on the faces of several children at the Pediatric ward of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital were turned upside down last Saturday, June 6, 2009, thanks to a donation from the Social club of the National Commercial Bank (NCB).{{more}}
The gift, which has an estimated value of over $8000, included board games, a brand new television and a microwave.
President of the Bankâs social club, Randy Lawrence, said that his club visited the ward before and noticed that it was not comfortable for the children. He said that the some areas of the ward did not have a television nor was the kitchen equipped with a microwave. Lawrence said his club approached Courts St Vincent Limited, which immediately jumped on board with the idea to donate to the ward. Very soon, the club will also be donating a fan and a bookshelf so that the ward can be fully furnished with its own little library. (KW)
