There were presentations and booths from various business houses and professional fields, including the Police Force, the Service Commissions Department, The SVG School of Nursing, SEARCHLIGHT newspaper, among others.

As part of the activities, the students were given mock job interviews so that they could gain some insight to enter the work force.

Also occurring at WSGSS on Wednesday was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Social Investment Fund (SIF) representative Bentley Brown and the school’s principal Asfo Stephens.

The SIF will provide $43,000 worth of equipment to furnish a resource centre at the school. The equipment will include computers and computer accessories, furniture and air-conditioning units. Brown said that the lab will also be used by the community as the PTA will also be part of the management of the facility.

Stephens said that the resource centre will enhance the students’ productivity and ensure that they are equipped to enter the job market. He also said that they will have to ensure that the equipment and building are properly maintained.
