Gambia establishes ties with SVG

The Republic of the Gambia is the latest country with which St. Vincent and the Grenadines has established Diplomatic Relations.{{more}}

Documents establishing Diplomatic Relations were signed last week in London, by this country’s High Commissioner, His Excellency Cenio Lewis, and the Gambia’s High Commissioner in London, Her Excellency Elizabeth Ya Ell Harding.

A joint communiqué issued after the signing affirmed that both countries were desirous of promoting and reinforcing the friendly relations that have existed over the years and pledged to move forward on the basis of equality, respect for national sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs.

Part of the Foreign Policy of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is to expand Diplomatic relations with countries in the African Continent.

The Agreement establishing Diplomatic Relations between this country and the Republic of the Gambia came into force on March 2nd, 2009.
