Cool Riderz deliver to elderly

09.MAY.08

On Saturday, April 26th, 2008, members of the Cool Riderz Motorcycle Club delivered a food basket to 83-year-old Rosetta Bobb of Mt Greenan.{{more}} The recipient is diabetic and hypertensive and is partially blind. However, this does not prevent her from engaging in activities of daily living. Bobb was referred by District Nurses Ertrice Ellis and Maria Paris of the Colonarie Health Centre. She celebrated her 84th birthday on Thursday, May 1st. The club members wish her a satisfactory quality of life, peace and contentment.

Following the donation of the food basket, members traveled to Colonarie to conduct health assessment for community members. Sixty residents were seen, with twenty of them referred for elevated blood sugar and blood pressure. This underscores the importance of compliance with diet, exercise and medication regimes. The consequences of non-compliance can and often have irreversible physiological damages. The old adage “An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure” applies.
