Japan Day celebration

Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, in conjunction with the Fishermen’s Committee, will be holding Japan Day on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th May, 2008, at the Kingstown Fish Market Compound, Little Tokyo, Kingstown.{{more}}

JOCV Volunteers, trained and well-qualified professionals in a variety of technical disciplines, work at the local level in recipient countries in order to best meet host-country needs. This year, JOCV will celebrate its fifth anniversary in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with a series of activities.

On Friday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m., there will be an exhibition and a Japan Day Tour of the Girls’ High School and VINSAVE. There will also be a Japanese Movie show, traditional Japanese activities and the sale of Japanese snacks.

On Saturday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m, there will be a performance by the Potential Steel Orchestra, followed by an exhibition, traditional Japanese activities and the sale of Japanese snacks. There will also be a performance by the Lio Smith Jazztet, Japanese Traditional dance and Karate by Kiai Dojo.
