Inaugural Cruise call -”Discovery”

The Discovery cruise ship from the Discovery Cruise line visited Port Kingstown last week Thursday on its inaugural call to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}

This ship has a carrying capacity of 780 passengers, and spent one day in Port Kingstown. There were 534 passengers on board.

Minister of Tourism Glen Beache, Acting Permanent Secretary Laverne Grant and Director of Tourism Vida Bernard greeted the captain and other members of the crew on board the ship. Minister Beache presented a welcome plaque to Captain Derek Kemp, and Captain Kemp returned the gesture to the Minister. Captain Kemp is said to have expressed satisfaction with the port/terminal and spoke of future visits to the destination. He also indicated that passengers were particularly excited about visiting the Grenadines about which they had heard much.
