A local publication geared at promoting celebrity and business executives in the region was launched here last Friday.{{more}}
The magazine, called âStatusâ, is the brainchild of entrepreneur Pearl Williams, of Beautex International fame.
Williams said that after years of dreaming, the magazine became a reality and indicated that it will showcase âpioneering and successful business enterprises where creativity, innovativeness, financial performance market penetration and business acumen have been nurtured to move up to the next level.â
Williams, a mas band producer, who also has the production of a beauty pageant and television show under her belt, said that the locally produced publication can rival other magazines produced in the region, for example SHE Magazine which comes out of St. Lucia and Shabeau from Barbados.
The first issue of the quarterly magazine features Prime Ministers Dr. Ralph Gonsalves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Patrick Manning of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as lawyer Anthony Astaphan, musician Lincoln Ward, designer Brian Macfarlane, Mustique Company Director Brian Alexander and others; with CEO Meade Malone featured on the front page.
Supporters to the venture were on hand at the Grenadine House to congratulate Williams on her latest venture and wished her success in future endeavors.
The publication will be made available here locally, also in other Caribbean countries, and internationally.(JJ)
