The 2008 – 2009 Executive will have the task of repeating or surpassing the extremely successful 2007 – 2008 year enjoyed by the Immediate Past Executive.

With the combined efforts of the past Executive and the general body, VINSA executed several successful activities. The highlight of the year was the lecture delivered by Prime Minister Dr Ralph E. Gonsalves titled ‘Caribbean Single market and Economy (CSME) and Functional Integration’ which, according to a release from VINSA, “phenomenally impacted the Campus and left it buzzing for days”.

At the recently held Caribbean Integration Week 2008, captioned ‘Building Bridges – Keeping our Caribbean Connection Alive’, hosted by the Guild of Students, in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the UWI, the association outshone the other island associations yet again. VINSA was adjudged Association of the Year at the grand dinner and awards ceremony on March 26th, 2008, at the Cascadia Hotel, sponsored by the Principal’s Office. In attendance, on behalf of the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines, was Minister of Tourism Glen Beache.
