Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ballantyne is spearheading investigations into claims that several persons on mainland St Vincent and in Bequia have been defrauded of thousands of dollars. Samsundai Ramsaran, a national of Trinidad and Tobago, is said to be assisting the police with their investigations.

ASP Ballantyne told SEARCHLIGHT that the investigations were ongoing, and no charges had been laid.

Ramsaran, whose business card identifies him as a marine engineer, was escorted by police to police headquarters for questioning from Bequia on Wednesday April 16th.

Ramsaran was recently employed at a mainland hotel and yacht charter company in a senior position, but that arrangement came to an end after only a few months, SEARCHLIGHT has been reliably informed.(KJ)
