Mavcom, which is an Information, Communication and Technology firm located in the Adams Brothers Building in Arnos Vale, provides a full range of ICT services, including website development, Computer sale and repairs and E- commerce solutions.
NComputing is a new product line the company has introduced. The product is a multi user access terminal that enables one personal computer (PC) to be simultaneously and independently shared with up to 30 users.
Marketing Director of Mavcom, Paul Morris, in his presentation, said that the vision of âMavcom is to expand computing access to the next billion users in the world.â He said that there are 500,000 NComputing units in 70 countries worldwide.
Morris said that the product costs less than half the price of a PC, uses 95 per cent less electricity than the average PC and has greater security control.
According to Morris, the product will allow more room in offices because of its space saving design. There are two types, the L130, which features a stereo sound jack, a compact design and 16- bit widescreen video support; the L 230, which also comes with those components and has a USB flash drive port, microphone jack and 24- bit video support.
Morris said the products have âbeen tried and tested, and NComputing put wasted capacity to useâ. Mavcom donated an X300 system to Simeon Norton, President of Rotary Club, towards the literacy and skills training project at Her Majesty Prisons.
This Morris said will host three additional computers in the programme.(VM)
