The training is intended to prepare thirty (30) teachers to become specialists in intervening with students who have exceptional learning needs and the establishment of a sustainable resource framework. The course is also intended to transform the way in which teachers plan and implement instruction for students requiring special educational needs.

The first phase of the training component of the consultancy was conducted at the Doris Mc Kie Learning Resource Centre from December 3 to 14, 2007. The second phase commenced on March 31, 2008, and will end on April 11, 2008. This session covers the module on Curriculum and Instruction: Mild and Moderate Needs.

The training is funded by the Government of SVG and the Caribbean Development Bank, and is being delivered by the Learning Place Inc.
