Taiwanese Ambassador swims from Young Island dock to resort

Joined by coaches and top swimmers of the SVG Swimming Association, Ricky Alexander, Neisha Alexander, and Steve Wallace along with other swimmers, Taiwan Ambassador Jack Cheng and his wife Jennifer, members of the Embassy and Technical Mission and the Taiwan volunteers made their first swim across from Young Island dock to the resort on March 15.{{more}}
The swim was not without trial due to the strong tide in the middle of the channel, but all swimmers reached the goal successfully. The fruit punch at Young Island Resort was surely a soothing relief after the challenge. Several swimmers from the âless professionalâ team later on admitted that the tide was stronger than expected but they indeed proudly cherish the experience.
The swim was undertaken with the assistance of Dominique Patterson, President of the swimming association.
