The telecommunications company donated a Nokia mobile handset to the educational institution after their previous Digicel phone was damaged.
Headteacher of the school, Fred Stay, pointed out that most of the parents have Digicel handsets and with Digicelâs inexpensive rates to âDigi-Digiâ phones, having a handset to contact the parents of his students would cut costs.
Headteacher Stay expressed gratitude to Digicel and described the company as a âgood friendâ who has been generously assisting the educational institution, beginning with helping the school to participate at the 2003 World Special Olympics Games in Ireland.
The headteacher also noted that Digicel continues to support the students at their inter-house sporting meet, their Christmas party and tennis programme.
Digicelâs Marketing Manager Juno De Roche said that her company was always glad to assist the school and noted that with the Digicel mobile phone, the Students would not only be able to call but also text their parents if there was an emergency.
