Basil’s Mustique Blues Festival line-up named

Creative Director Dana Gillespie and Producer Basil Charles have announced the line up for the 13th Annual Mustique Blues Festival to be held at Basil’s Bar this month.{{more}}

Appearing are: Ronnie Jones, Carvin Jones, Zach Prather, Dana Gillespie, Papa George, Steve Simpson, and the London Blues Band: Julien Brunetaud, Dino Baptiste, Jake Zaitz, Jeff Walker, Mike Paice, Darby Todd, and Enrico Morena with Special Guest: Felix Dennis.

The Mustique Blues Festival begins Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Basil’s Bar, with a Blues Jump Up and BBQ, and continues nightly until Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Sundays, the show begins at 5, with a special family show of ‘Sunset Blues’. Friday, January 25, the Blues Festival moves for one night only to Bequia and the following weekend to the mainland of St. Vincent.

Each year, the Mustique Blues Festival’s performances are recorded and released as a CD (available at Basil’s Bar or on Basil’s Web site at (www.basilsbar.com). The 2008 CD is on sale now. The artists donate their time and Basil’s Bar donates the revenue from the CD’s. All of the money made at the festival goes to fund secondary education for the youths of St. Vincent, through the Basil Charles Educational Foundation. More than 30 children are currently benefiting from the funds of the Mustique Blues Festival.
