Dr. Gonsalves attends Expo in Puerto Rico

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is in Puerto Rico attending the first edition of Expo Caguas 2007.{{more}}

The Prime Minister was specially invited by The Mayor of the town of Caguas, William Miranda – Marin Esq. Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Len Ishmael is also accompanying the Prime Minister, along with a local delegation, which includes officials of National Investment Promotion Inc.

The idea behind the Expo is to promote the economic development in Caguas and the rest of Puerto Rico. It is also being staged to celebrate 10 years of economic transformation of Caguas, show Caguas as a centre for business and national and international investment and to promote the exchange of ideas between the foreign business in Puerto Rico.

Prime Minister Gonsalves will also be presented with the keys of the city of Caguas.

During his stay in the city, he will be given a tour of the Caguas and will meet with officials of the University of Puerto Rico to discuss the possibility of educational opportunities for nationals of the OECS.

The Prime Minister will conclude his visit today, November 2.

The city of Caguas has been under transformation for the last 10 years, and now projects itself as a centre for national and international business. (API)
