Digicel tells Vincies to get fingers busy for Rising Star

Telecommunications provider Digicel is urging Vincentians to get their fingers busy texting and phoning for their favourite 2007 Digicel Rising Star contestant.{{more}}

On Sunday, September 30, this country’s representative to the competition, Naveecha James, poured her heart out in a song originally done by Jamaican artiste, Tessanne Chin entitled, “Hide Away”. According to the release, “Naveecha is depending on your votes to take her into the next round of the competition”.

Hosted by the beautiful and talented Belle Holder in Barbados, the other contestants who performed that night included: Cristal Valire – St Lucia, Severin Pradel – Anguilla, Dana Barnes – Antigua and Barbuda, Raphael Saul- Barbados, Sharrie Jones – Grenada, Tarina Simon – Dominica and Duane Thompson – Nevis.

Jeslyn Holder, a 33-year-old trainee Marine Pilot from Byrea is the second representative from St Vincent and the Grenadines. He will also be competing with seven other contestants from the Caribbean for the prestigious title.

Holder believes that his versatility will make him the champion.
