South Korea is bidding and campaigning to be the host of the symposium on “Global Warming and the Living Ocean and Coast” to be held in 2012.

The Health and Environment Minister said the symposium was “very topical in the context of the environment, as there is a lot of debate going on about global warming and its impact on development and the existence of mankind and living species”.

He said the symposium consisted of three sessions discussing the general topic of global warming, challenges and some proposed solutions. It involved presentations by International Writers, Scientists and general personnel who are involved in the issue of global warming and its effects.

David Pollard of the Ministry of Culture accompanied Dr. Slater on his 4-day trip to Korea. According to Dr. Slater, Pollard is designing a booth for this country to be involved in an exhibition in Spain and, therefore, went along to get a first hand impression. (API)
