Eyewitnesses told SEARCHLIGHT that around 1:15 p.m., the passenger van Shady pulled in to the terminal, stopped and while passengers were alighting, a man walked up to the van, pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the van.

The shooter then ran in the direction of the exit gate and disappeared. The gunman is described as being a tall black man who was wearing a black cap, black t-shirt and blue jeans and had a red bandana in his hand.

Of the two shots fired, one exited through the driver’s side of the van while the other hit 23-year-old Martin Phillips (right) of Rillan Hill in the left leg. Phillips was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in another van. At press time, he was in stable condition.

Driver of the van, Ivan Foye, (left) told SEARCHLIGHT that he was confused as to what really happened, “I am still frightened”, he said.

Police are investigating the matter. (AC)
