Vincentian’s artwork is new symbol for CARIBwhale

A Vincentian’s artwork will be the new symbol of CARIBwhale (Caribbean Whale Watch Association).

The logo competition promoted three months ago in eight Caribbean countries attracted over 50 submissions from around the region. In the end it was Junior Assing of Cane Garden, St. Vincent who got the judges’ nod.{{more}}

Last week Assing received his prize, a state-of-the-art I-pod, from Dr Joth G Singh of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

Assing’s logo, which will be slightly altered, will now be the official logo of CARIBwhale.

The organization promotes the protection of the environment and whale population and seeks to push the whale-watching industry.

Kim Halbich of Fantasea Tours is a director of CARIBwhale.

She said that she was proud that a Vincentian had won the competition.

Minister of Tourism Youth and Sport Glen Beache attended the brief prize giving function.

After receiving his prize Assing told SEARCHLIGHT that he was glad to be involved as he has a great passion for whales and the protection of the environment. (KJ)
