Youth seriously injured in Georgetown accident

What started as a wait for transportation to Saturday’s Moonlight Party at Argyle, ended as a trip to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for one Georgetown resident.{{more}}

Twenty two-year-old Alvis Quashie was standing with friends in the vicinity of the Georgetown Methodist Church when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the direction of the Rabacca bridge.

According to one eyewitness, Quashie was thrown into the air and landed almost 20 feet from where he stood.

He suffered injuries to his hip and head and up to press time was listed in serious condition.

Quashie was scheduled to fly to Trinidad for further treatment.

The vehicle that struck Quashie, PJ 761 is registered to Shorn Griffith and was driven by Keith Andrews, a member of this country’s Rapid Response Unit. (JJ)
