Scotiabank supporting women’s development

Scotiabank on Tuesday announced a donation of EC$8,900.00 to The Organization for the Development of Women to support their work on behalf of women in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This donation is part of a regional initiative by Scotiabank to celebrate and support International Women’s Day, which took place on March 8, 2007.{{more}}

“Wherever there is a Scotiabank presence around the world, there is a strong culture of community involvement,” said Stephen Vickery, Country manager. “We’re proud to present this donation to The Organization for the development of Women in support of the very important work they do in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The funds will assist in defraying the cost associated with a publication “The Absence of Rage,” which was done to sensitize the public on issues of violence in the community. The Purple Ribbon campaign calls on communities to stop the Rage and build peaceful communities.
