Anglican women unite

A new and vibrant organization has been formed called the Anglican Church Women Association (ACWA) and it aims to provide women of that denomination with an “Opportunity to discover and live the meaning of their baptism in Christ.”

With some 25 members already recruited in the Kingstown parish, Public Relations Officer La Fern Cato said that there was a need for women to devote more of their time to Christ despite their hectic schedules.{{more}}

Cato also noted that more women needed to fellowship together and have social outreaches to improve their community. She however pointed out that another of ACWA’s main goals was to target young people whose numbers they noted were dwindling in the church.

The PRO said that in September they would be inducting their members and invited others to join ACWA.

Members of the now three month old aqua blue uniformed association intend to have other branches in parishes throughout the country.

Women 25 years and older can join ACWA which is made up of Worship, Fellowship, Social outreach and Fundraising Committees.(SG)
