Katherine says she studied hard, did her best on the day
Although she did not take the first position as her sister did last year, Katherine Renton of the St. Maryâs Roman Catholic School still excelled, placing third overall in this yearâs common entrance exams with an average of 94.62%.{{more}} Last year, her sister Saskia Renton, came out on top with an average of 92.78%.
The aspiring novelist told SEARCHLIGHT she had set a goal of being in the top ten and was able to achieve it. She said that while preparing for her exams, she studied a lot and took advantage of the extra classes that the teachers gave after school and on Saturdays.
âI feel very happy. I studied very hard and did my best on the day,â Katherine told SEARCHLIGHT.
Although she does not have a favourite subject, Katherine is hoping to become a novelist and plans to do the various subjects that will help her to achieve her objective.
She is thankful to the teachers that assisted her in her preparations, principal of the school, Sister Ivy Pacheco and her family for their support. Katherineâs father John is a teacher at the Girlsâ High School and her mother Susan, a marine biologist.
She scored 93.94% in English, 96.67% in Mathematics and 93.33% in General Paper. (SB)
