Hard work pays off for Kemar Simmons

Even though he is, at present, uncertain about his future career path, Kemar Simmons certainly has a bright future before him.

The 11-year-old Troumaca Government School student placed tenth overall and third among boys in this year’s Common Entrance Examinations.{{more}} His scores are 89.39% for English, 96.67% for Math and 91.67% for General Paper

An avid reader of quiet disposition, Kemar also likes to watch television and play computer games; his favourite subject is Science. He credits his success to his teachers and family especially his aunt Zodelia Jocelyn a teacher at his school.

Kemar told SEARCHLIGHT that he was not surprised to have placed so high on the exam as he believes in his abilities and was prepared. His advice to students who will sit the examination next year is; “Work hard to do your best and as Mrs. Haywood (his school principal) always says “Hard work brings successes,” he said. (AC)
