Mountain Top soliciting donations for Salvation Army
Mountain Top Springs Ltd (MTSL) continues its drive to provide financial assistance to, and highlight the needs of, charitable organisations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
From this month, Mountain Top will launch a campaign to solicit donations for the Salvation Army of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}
The campaign commences with a donation of a cheque for EC $5000.00 to a special account established for the Salvation Army at Scotia Bank, Kingstown. The funds raised in this campaign will be used to support the school-feeding programme which was started by Brigadier Clementian Leopold almost 40 years ago.
The first âMeals of Loveâ as they were then called were served to 200 children from eight schools. To date, the programme has provided meals for over 1 million children from approximately 50 schools.
Majors Henry and Pauline King have indicated that the programme costs the organisation just over EC $ 4000 per month, and there are times when the funds raised are inadequate to meet this monthly commitment.
Mountain Top will publish advertisements in the local press to remind persons to support the fundraising efforts. The company will also host a webpage on its website www.mountaintopsprings.com to enable persons to make pledges to the Salvation Army. Receptacles will also be placed in local banks to enable the public to make contributions.
Kenneth DaSilva, Financial Comptroller of MTSL says that âAt Mountain Top, we constantly seek to lend our support to genuine causes that actually have a positive effect on peopleâs lives in a tangible way.â He added, âWe are ourselves a product of the environment in which we operate and we consider it our duty to continuously improve that environment for the benefit of all.â
Mountain Top thanks the general public for their overwhelming support in previous campaigns, and they are again inviting all Vincentians, whether at home or abroad, and including other business houses to become involved in this venture.
Major Henry King ended by adding âIts never too late. Please donate!â
The Salvation Army Help the Kids account number at Scotia Bank is 105945.
