Young Leaders launched at Petit Bordel Secondary

The Petit Bordel Secondary School Young Leaders group was launched on Friday, March 30.

The event took place at the Golden Grove Learning Resource under the sub-theme “Life for you depends on you the individual”.{{more}} The keynote speaker was unable to make the journey to Chateaubelair, so Principal Wendy Rodney addressed the participants in his stead. She encouraged the students to think of themselves as gold, “You must emphasize the fact that you are the ones who will ultimately decide your destiny”, she said.

Acting President Taranza Franklyn opened her remarks with this quote “It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves”. She outlined the projects which the group will be undertaking this year, one of which is the Big Brother/Big Sister Club and a dramatic production which they hope to capture on DVD.

The group aims to impact on their school community to build self-esteem and character among students.
