Students urged to ‘Get Caught Reading’

The books, each with a cricketing theme, were designed to encourage children to read more especially now that the Cricket World Cup is being hosted in the Caribbean.

The series comprises 10 titles, one fiction and one non-fiction title for each year of primary school from ages 6 – 10, and has titles like “The Lost Ball”, “The Cricket Match”, “Peter’s New Bat”, “It’s a Funny Game”, “Brian Lara”, “The World Cup” and “Know the Game”.

Speaking on behalf of Searchlight, Graphic Artist, Neal Jackman urged the pupils to continue reading as this increases their knowledge, and having knowledge helps them to become winners. He said that he hoped that they would find the books interesting and thanked the schools for their unwavering support of Searchlight newspaper over the years.

The books are valued at EC$900.
