G-G appoints nine more JPs

St Vincent and the Grenadines has nine more Justices of the Peace.

Three women and six men took the oath before Governor-General Sir Frederick Ballantye who said this was an honour given to people who have demonstrated high moral standings and honesty in the society.

However he cautioned that with the honour comes a great responsibility as he reminded them of their oaths and urged them to perform their duties to the best of their ability.

Sir Frederick said it was not a political appointment but a judicial one.
